Why Games as Art in fact Matters

So long have devout gamers gone on the record for saying, "Video games are art REVISE!". And consequently, there have been opposing parties contradicting that very statement in a number of ways.

And so, you may ask yourself, "Why, if at all does this matter?". Well, the way I see it is that should we classify video games as art, then more developers would be more aware that a quality game does not consist of recycled concepts from a Grade A game, in a Grade D way. But rather, unique game mechanics, stories, objective, and art styles are primarily the contributing factors to a successful game.
