With the exception of counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and possibly even dividing, mathematics is useless. Anecdotally, there are surely scientists and mathmaticians of all sorts who use convoluted and complex theorems to discover the mysteries of life. In this case, math is their passion: it's what gets them up in the morning.

Although for all of us, who aren't as gifted, why must we too share the suffering we understand as mathematics? An enhanced worldview? To gain a familiarity? To be exposed to an entirely objective school subject?
